Objective of Course / Workshop:

At the end of the training, participants will learn: What group supervision is and is not. When and when not to engage in group supervision, including different contexts & groups. Strategies to effectively manage & interpret group dynamics to achieve positive outcomes. How to facilitate ethical supervision, using frameworks & processes specifically tailored for groups The powerful role of facilitation, structure & norms of behaviour for group supervision. Skills in applying reflective, coaching, narrative & appreciative inquiry frameworks with groups.

Aims of the Course is to provide participants with the knowledge and techniques according to the various Supervision group models & Supervision process in order to maintain integrity with Supervisee’s. To develop confidence and a better understanding of how to deal with Supervision situations creatively with clarity and competency.To skill participants in the importance of the supervision influence in the client’s outcome.To be aware of the need for self-care and the signs and systems of Vicarious Traumatisation.

Mastering group supervision is designed for (but not limited to) social work, human services, health, education, counselling, human resources & other professionals wanting to grow their skills and confidence in facilitating a structured group supervision process so that it is a rich learning experience for all group participants.

Participants receive a comprehensive Learner Guide and a Course Certificate upon completion of the day. A minimum of 3 years of practice experience; an understanding of what supervision is and familiarity with some supervision frameworks; having received or provided supervision for a minimum of 3 years; a preparedness to participate in and explore group processes as part of the training. Many training programs offer expert knowledge and skilled facilitation, which are essential, our Supervision Workshops take supervision training to another level. Participants tell us again and again that the way we connect with and engage them in their learning journey, and the attention we pay to the workshop culture and environment itself, results in an exceptional learning experience for them.

Barbara has been running supervision groups in private practice for over 15 years.  Presenting and assessing the RISEUP Model of Supervision in Victoria, Tasmania, Hobart, since 2014. plus Supervisors only groups in Victoria.
